The other night we were up late working on Kai's costume for his musical. Nate and I told the kids there would be no time for books because it was so late. Nina said, "We don't get books tonight, but that's OK. This is a family day. An I Love You day."
We had a hectic trip to new orleans the other day for a doctor appointment, me and Nina and Julian. Our plans changed several times over the course of the day and Nina just rolled with every single change in plans. I told her how much I appreciated it, and I said, "Nina, you're my get-up-and-go girl and I love you." She smiled and kicked her legs in her carseat. We talked for awhile and several minutes later she said, "Mom, what does get up and go mean?"
